Misery Bay not so miserable...

Its funny how bands can have so much fun, even though there's a ton of work involved in setting up and playing. Think about it: Booking venues and bands, promotion via posters, handbills, email, myspace, facebook, then there's tearing down, loading and unloading, setting up, playing a killer set, teardown and packing up. Easier typed than done.

We could never do it by ourselves. Our good friends have helped tremedously, esp. Giambra and Oler. Then they throwdown for us, get the crowd moving. Honestly we would be nowhere without our friends. We've played plenty of shows where we didnt know anyone and realize how good is to have great friends and fans. You make it all possible, and even now and again earn us an award. We owe everything we have to you... You know who you are, and we do too. Thanks for the support, you make all the work worthwhile and the shows something to remember...

Misery Bay's gone commercial!

Well don't say we sold out because we dont get paid. We just want to get our music out there and in a fashion that represents us. We might not be "HxC" hardcore, but we are intense, and taste great! Check out this commercial featuring our song Champion, also TRY THE DRINK its a good clean energy that lasts! Do your homework when you put energy stimuli in your body, this stuff's amazing...

"We have met the enemy, and they are ours..."

Life is an everyday battle. We all win some, lose some. A true soldier always stands his ground and faces the storm. He doesnt jump ship or strand the wounded.

Once you care more for yourself than you do for the crew, you find yourself drowning in your own sea of misery. Swim my friend, swim. Loyalty and perserverance is the life ring of this lesson.

There's a war going on out there and we've suffered casualties. Heed my warning you'll never take us alive.

Neverfall

Today I came across some old Neverfall and other 814 memorabilia on erie hxc's myspace page. It brought back some fond memories. Even my daughter was dancing around to the old tunes. Ahhh it's funny how looking back how we've all progressed musically and personally. Nothing could beat the old 814 HxCscene, and I consider myself very lucky to have been a part of it first hand.

Im glad I had the recent opportunity to work with Justin (calabrese, vocals Neverfall) again when he filled in as frontman for Misery Bay. It was weird (the Bay having only a singer, drummer, guitar and samples) but felt really good. I wish we wouldv'e taped htat Halloween show at Sherlock's. There's some pics on our myspace page... It was raw and tough, simple and to the point. Good shit, thanks Justin for puttin the work and sorry we didnt keep it going.

Having to recoop...

Anyone who's seen us knows that Coop(vocals)is one of a kind. You can consider him irreplaceable, and I agree. The fact is we've had our differences and though I realize his impact on our image and sound, we'll "bite the bullet and come to terms with reality" So no more Jamaal. I would be concerned about him, because I trully care about him, but I know with his talent and determination, he'll always be working toward something. And we all know that something will be ridiculously intense. (Scarwork, Wake of Morning, Coopvocals101, etc) So to Coop, thanks for everything you've done with us and for us. We can't replace you, but will morph into a Brand New Bay. You brought us out of the basement and into the daylight. Your energy is unmatched, and impression was huge, not unlike your wimpy arms.

I noticed a funny similarity (minus being out of shape, cuz coop is ridiculously in shape) between Coop and Biz Markie. I sent out photos joking about him replacing Coop. I know he wouldn't like it, but COME ON! TAKE A JOKE! If Coop didnt work out, ate chicken wings and pizza, drank beer, and played World of Warcraft I think this is what he'd look like... with love, GB you coop

Its Cold Outside

I can honestly say I'm glad to be inside. Its much warmer than the 12* we have outside right now. -15* wind chill? The bay is definitely frozen solid for awhile...

Misery Bay 2009

Well if you us well enough, you've realized we've had a bumpy road. The seas of "misery" have been rough, and some of the crew have gone overboard. It happens. Jeff (borz) and I have been jamming/writing together since 1997 so we've seen our fair share of musicians come and go. Dont get me wrong, much respect and plenty of gratitude for everyone that's been a part of us so far. (Woosta, Scotty-J, Stoney, Shaner, Nate, Drew, Justin, Blakeslee, Handsome, Coop, Danny, Mancrino, Kramerstein, Graham Cracker, Solar Oler...) to name a few.

You see, we have these songs, Jeff and I, and we invite people to come down and elaborate and we crank out some good stuff. The most recent was released on the 2007 EP, because the songs were complete and we were tight and content with everyones input. Right now, we're pushing to fix our lives that we forgot about. Some of us thought we were rock-stars, some of us preferred to party, and some had higher priorities than the band.

This leaves us stuck in the muck in the bottom of the Bay. Its ok though, like I said Jeff and I can crank songs out like you wouldnt believe, so there's more to come once we figure out when to finish them and who's gonna help. For now just keep rockin the old ep, listen to the samples we have, watch the videos (more uploading all the time) and keep in touch, cuz we're not going anywhere. (literally lol)
